Hey guys, I'm super excited to share this word that the Lord gave me recently and the last word that I released it was all about purging. That the Lord was purging the church and I believe he did that so that he can align us now and put us in place. And where he's ordained us, I see a lot of people in transition right now in the body. A lot are crossing over into their personal promise lands.
And um those who let themselves be transformed, those who surrendered and sought him, he is putting into new assignments and new places in their callings and it's all for his glory. And it is amazing to see all of these pieces come together for the church in the spirit. And so in the new year, I feel like there is a big shift happening. There's a lot of um people being newly planted at the beginning of the year.
I feel like there will be a lot of um new assignments, new locations, new ministry things um that the Lord's going to be doing then and I feel like in this time right now that we're not seeing um the next step. We're not seeing what comes next. Uh but it's on purpose. And in this time of transition where we are transitioning though we may not see it, there is an attack of worry and anxiousness and weariness against the church right now.
And I recently went to a lake house. That was amazing and the Lord put it all together. It was a total surprise to me. But I was so thankful to be there and it wasn't until I got there that I realized there had been a heavy anxiousness on me that I couldn't get up from under and that's not normal for me.
So I was asking the Lord, "Lord, what is this? Why Why is this here?" And I heard the Lord tell me over and over again, "Just sleep. Just sleep. Just sleep." And he began to speak to me about how he put Adam to sleep.
And he brought um him Eve. When he saw his need, he put him to sleep, he created her, and he brought her to him. And he also spoke to me about how the disciples in the boat, all they needed to do is sleep when the storm came because Jesus was more than able and capable to quiet that storm and give them what they needed. And so I realized only way we can sleep is to have true trust and peace.
And I believe that is what the Lord is calling us into in this time. Um to enter into that trust and rest and just sleep and let him do it because only he can do what he's doing right now. And while I was at the lake house, I felt him ask me, "Did you do anything to get here?" And I was like, "No, sir, I did not." And it was like a parable. It was like him showing me that that's what he's doing in this coming season for the church.
He is going to be the one that puts it all together and puts us in the right place, and it's going to be amazing and blessed. Um but he will be the one to do it. And so I feel like we are to rest our heads on the chest of Jesus in this time just like John the beloved did. And the thing about John the beloved is he was the only disciple um in the boat when Jesus came walking on the water that recognized him.
And he jumped up and and ran to him and um that I believe is because of his level of intimacy with the Lord. It was said that he was the only disciple in the Bible that laid his chest laid his head against the chest of Jesus. And so that intimacy caused him to know Jesus. And that's what we are called to, especially right now, to rest that we would know him.
And the whole point of the gospel is that we can enter into rest now. It says to strive to enter into rest because the work is finished. It's done. He's won.
So, we can lay down now and receive. And we are called into that surrender and humility. That's key in this time. The surrender that says, "It's your will, not mine, Jesus.
It's your timing, not mine. Only you can do it." And that humility, that humbleness of heart that says, "I can't do it on my own. I'm fully dependent on you, God." That humility is so key right now. And one time the Lord told me, "Your strength is in your stillness before me." And there is a really good verse that goes with that.
It's in the amplified. It's Isaiah 10:15. And it says, "For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said this. In returning to me and rest, you shall be saved.
In quietness and confidence, or confident trust, is your strength." And so, there's a reason why he's wanting us to trust and enter into that quietness and confident rest in our spirits. It's because that's when he knows that we are our strongest, so that he can place us into the this next place. And I just feel like it's key for us to become like children in this time. Just like a child that needs their dad.
A child that's fully reliant and trust their father. And I saw a couple visions recently of me in this time of transition where I was um a little kid. And I In one of them, uh he had me wrapped up in a sling around him, like mothers carry their babies. And I was a little baby trying to like peek my head out and look around and figure things out and figure out what's going on and wrestling around in there and he just kept bringing his hand to my head and putting it against his chest and he kept saying rest, rest, rest.
And I knew it was because he was doing everything that was needed. I was just strapped to him and he just wanted me to rest on him as he was making everything happen. And so that's definitely a word for the church right now. And another vision that I saw is I was as toddler in a high chair and I was fussing and I was angry cuz I was hungry and I saw Jesus cooking food and he turned around to bring me this food and he locked eyes with me and with such love he said, "I know what you need.
I'm going to give you what you need. I will feed you." And that got me. I was just weeping and weeping and weeping because I realized that for myself in this time with all the anxiousness and I personally know that he's calling me to a new place and I haven't seen like the doors opening yet or anything happening any forward momentum. And so it's been a constant conscious choice for me over and over again to enter into rest and trust and to stay there.
And he is was reminding me, "I know what you need and in the perfect time I'm going to give you exactly what you need. I haven't forgotten you." And so that is definitely for us in this time that he will feed us and he will give us what we need even if we can't see it at the moment. And um there's a couple verses that go along with that. It's Luke 18:7.
Truly I say to you, "Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it." And then Matthew 18:3. And he said, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." So it is key for us to be like children before the Lord. And there's another um story in the Bible that I felt like I was supposed to share about, and it's Abraham and Sarah. And they are perfect example of what it looks like for man to take God's promise into his own hands and try to make it happen even out of God's time.
And when they did that, of course, they birthed Ishmael. And it says in the Bible that he was a wild man whose hand was against everyone, and everyone's hand was against him. And if you study his genealogy, it shows that Muslim extremists and terrorist groups have all come from his bloodline. And so, we are seeing the effects today from the time of biblical times to today.
We're seeing the effects of man trying to make God's promise happen by his own strength and his own will and his own time. And trying to take it out of God's hands and bring it forth. And so, that is the importance of trusting the Lord and surrendering and relying on him to do it. And there is a reminder that every time I feel my soul gets stirred up and I'm trying to figure things out and and worry, I remind myself again and again this quote, "He is faithful.
He is capable, and he is able." And every time I remind my heart that, it settles myself back down. It's so helpful. And there's a scripture that is perfect for that. It says, "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." And I love that because even in everything that's going on, it's saying hold steadfast because his character, his nature, who he is is faithful.
And that's what we're called to know him in this time. And then I felt like he wanted me to share some more scriptures that are key for right now. So, I need to drink water. There is 2 Peter 3 and it's verses 8 and 9.
And it says, "So, dear friends, don't let this one thing escape your notice. A single day counts like a thousand years to the Lord Yahweh, and a thousand years counts as one day. This means that contrary to man's perspective, the Lord is not late with his promise as some measure lateness, but rather his delay simply reveals his loving patience towards you because he does not want any to perish, but all to come to repentance." So, this was really key for me when he brought me to it. I realized all the anxiousness was because I felt like things were late.
I felt like they weren't going to happen on time. And this would just really, really reassured me. He is not late. He knows perfect timing, and yes, it's different than ours, but he knows exactly when things need to happen, and he is always right on time.
And so, that should help us surrender and trust. And then, there is another scripture. It's 1 Peter 3 3 4 and it's about what true beauty is, which is key for us to know because he's coming back for a beautiful bride. Um and it says, "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.
Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a meek and quiet spirit which is of great worth in God's sight. And if I went and studied that in the original language and meek means mildness of disposition and gentleness of spirit. And this is amazing. It says meekness toward God is that disposition of spirit in which we accept his dealings with us as good.
And therefore without disputing or resisting. In the Old Testament, the meek are those who wholly rely on God rather than their own strength to defend against injustice. That is key right now for all of the injustice that's happening in the world that we would depend and rely on him and his strength instead of us to defend ourselves against injustice. And then it says thus meekness toward evil people means knowing God is permitting the injuries they inflict, that he is using them to purify his elect, and that he will deliver his elect in his time.
Notice it doesn't say that he causes them. It says that he uses it to purify us and that he will deliver us. And then it says gentleness or meekness is the opposite to self-assertiveness and self-interest. It stems from trust in God's goodness and control over the situation.
The gentle person is not occupied with self at all. This is a work of the Holy Spirit, not of the human will. And then quiet in that scripture means tranquil peaceable and keeping one's seat, which I thought was amazing because we're seated in heavenly places with Jesus and to be quiet before the Lord means to keep your seat with him. Um and so he is coming back for a beautiful bride, like I said, and this is what true beauty is.
So this is what we are to step into in this time. And then there's Psalm 23. This verse really stuck out to me in the Passion translation. It says, "He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love.
His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss. That's where he restores and revives my life." And then in the footnotes, I thought they were amazing that that where it says resting place in his luxurious love, the Greek word for love is agape, which is a merging of two words and two concepts. So um ego means to lead like a shepherd, and pao is um a verb that means to rest. And so that's saying love is our shepherd leading us to the place of true rest in his heart.
And then the part where it says he restores and revives my life, this speaks to me so much. It says, "He causes my life or soul in Hebrew, nephesh, to return." So often life drains us of through all of our many activities, but David found that God restores our well-being by pursuing what pleases God and resting in him. So I love that. Restoration in Christ is what he's wanting to give us even in the transition.
And then there's Psalm 46:10. It says, "Be still, which also means cease striving, relax, let go, be quiet, leave off your own attempts, and know that he is God." And then there's Psalm 116:7. it says, "Return to rest, which means your settled spot, quietness. O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you." And then he gave me a couple of verses for what the church is going to come into after this transition season. And so this is going to be for us.
And it's Psalm 126, it says, "When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed again. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, 'The Lord has done great things for them.' The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Restore our fortunes, Lord, like streams in the Negev.
Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping carrying seeds to sow will return with songs of joy carrying sheaves with them." And then Psalm 31:19, "How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge or trust in you." And so there is so much good he has stored up for us, for those that have taken refuge in him and trusted him, who fear him and reverence him. He has amazing things that we are coming into, and he is going to restore our fortunes and fill us with songs of joy. So I just wanted to give that to you guys, encourage you with something to look forward to, um that he purchased us for a purpose to give us amazing things that we're walking into.
And um I hope this encouraged you. If you need anything else, it's all on my website. I still love to speak, encourage the church, so um that's there and there's also the mentorship program that I'm working with and opportunities to sow. And so, that's www.nicolesimondio.com.
I'd love to hear from you guys and I really hope that you just set your heart to rest in this season because he who is faithful will accomplish it. I love you guys.
