Feeling Shame or Condemnation?? This Word is for You! Part 1
The word
For those of you that have truly REPENTED from your sins and are now following CHRIST but you struggle with shame and condemnation- this Word is for you from God!
1 John 1:9 says He will cleanse us of ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.
To “CLEANSE” here in the original language means, to FREE from the guilt of sin, to purify, to free from defilement of sin and faults, to purify from wickedness, to remove by cleansing, to make clean, and to purge.
Friend, once you have been cleansed, purged and purified, there isn’t even a trace of it left!
Some of you may think, well it’s hard to receive this when I am living in the consequences of my sins…
Listen, you may be suffering some consequences of your sins BUT because of the finished work of the Cross, God is working it out for your GOOD! This is not the end of your story! ↔
Jesus came to give life and life abundantly so His story always ends in life.
He will rescue, He will save, He will deliver, He will redeem and restore all that is lost and broken. He has AND He will.
When Jesus said, “IT IS FINISHED” on the cross, it was the Greek word, “TETELESTAI” which was in the perfect tense, meaning past, present and future.
It means the action of redemption was completed in the past with permanent, ongoing results, signifying debt paid in full, prophecy fulfilled and victory won.
It conveys an action completed with enduring consequences, like a debt marked “paid in full” or a masterpiece completed.
As a quote from David Jeremiah says, “It has been finished and will REMAIN finished.
The Word Jesus said on the cross for “IT IS FINISHED” is “TETELESTAI”.
Contextually
Regarding debt- If the word “TETELESTAI” was on receipts, it meant "paid in full," canceling a debt.
Regarding a prisoner- A freed prisoner would receive a certificate marked “TETELESTAI”, signifying their sentence served.
Regarding priests- to declare a lamb totally flawless and perfect they would use the word “TETELESTAI”.
You have been cleansed, purified and freed from sin FOREVER! BLOOD
This is the Good News! This is the Gospel!

For those of you that have truly repented from your sins and are now following Christ, but you struggle with shame and condemnation, this word is for you from God. 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." It doesn't say he will cleanse us partly or from some unrighteousness. It doesn't say that he will cleanse us from unrighteousness, but only certain kind that isn't as bad as what you have done. It says he will cleanse us of all unrighteousness. To cleanse here in their original language means to free from the guilt of sin, to purify, to free from defilement of sin and faults, to purify from wickedness, to remove by cleansing, to make clean, and to purge.
Isaiah 1:19 says, "Come now, let us settle the matter," says the Lord. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." Friend, once you have been cleansed, purged, and purified, there isn't even a trace of it left. It was settled on the cross of Calvary.
Some of you may think, "Well, it's hard to receive this when I'm living in the consequences of my sins right now." Listen, you may be suffering some consequences of your sins, but because of the finished work of the cross, God is working it out for your good. This is not the end of the story. Jesus came to give life and life abundantly. So, his story always ends in life.

It conveys an action completed with enduring consequences, like a debt marked paid in full or a masterpiece completed. It's a past action with a present and eternal effect, meaning something done in the past that continues to have a present state and ongoing results. As a quote from David Jeremiah says, "It has been finished and will remain finished." As far as contextual meaning of the word to telestai that Jesus used on the cross when he said, "It is finished." Regarding debt, if the word to telestai was on receipts, it meant paid in full, canceling all debt. Regarding a prisoner, a freed prisoner would receive a certificate marked to telestai, signifying their sentence served.
And regarding priests who declare a lamb totally flawless and perfect, they would use that word. So, you have been cleansed, purified, and freed from sin forever. The perfect lamb has paid your debt in full, past, present, and future. This is the good news.
