Prophetically, we are in a time as a body of Christ that is a critical turning point, a time of transition. Um, and it is extremely vital that we as believers know how to hear the voice of God and make decisions from a place of godly wisdom. This is part two of breaking down what wisdom truly is according to the Bible. And to understand what something is, we have to clearly understand what it is not.
James 3 breaks down and spells out wisdom, what it is and what it is not. Uh verse 15 says, "For where envy and selfseeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there." Envy here in the original language means envious and contentious rivalry, jealousy and also outburst and manifestations of the like. Self-seeking here in the original language means a desire to put oneself forward. strife, contention, trickery, a prejudice spirit, and likely to argue or disagree. Confusion here in the original language means instability, a state of disorder, disturbance, and tumult.
Evil thing here in the original language means wicked, bad, mean, worthless, ethically bad and foul. So essentially scripture says that envy, jealousy, contentious rivalry and acting out of those things along with self-seeking, having a desire to put yourself forward, creating contention and causing strife and arguing, using trickery, having a prejudice spirit, and being prone to disagree and argue is not wisdom. Furthermore, the Bible says that having all of those things in your heart and hidden inside of you or acting out in those ways also causes confusion, a state of disorder, disturbance to mol and everything that is evil, wicked, mean, ethically bad, foul, and worthless. Another way to look at this is if you see this fruit in your life or in your situation, check your heart and your actions because the Bible makes what the root of those specific fruits are very clear.
