If you are in a place where you are hungering and longing and thirsting for something and you're not getting that need met in Jesus and in what he tells us to, then a lot of times your mind will race and you'll feel this frantic need inside where you're thinking, "How do I get this need met? Do I get this thirst met here or this hunger met here?" It's it's a deep longing. And I want to read a scripture to you if you resonate with that. And it's in John 4:34.
And it's when disciple when the disciples of Jesus tell him to eat and he replies to them, my food and here food means that which delights and truly satisfies the mind. And he says is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish or to accomplish or carry through completely his work. And so the food of God is to do his will. And that's what actually fulfills us.
That's what actually gives us that thing we're longing for, that completion. It satiates our desires. It truly satisfies. And not only that, it actually brings peace to our minds.
And in scripture, it says that he will keep those in perfect peace whose minds are stayed on him. Why? Because he's the only one that can truly fulfill that deep longing and hunger and thirst.
