Friends, it is SOOO important that we know what is God’s voice- and what is NOT.
So important that I felt led to do a super mini-series on discerning the voice of the Lord.
(Though I could talk about this subject forevvveerrr. His voice is so precious to me. )
One of the very worst, most damaging things we can do as believers is say something, claiming “God told us”, without it actually being from Him.
That’s terrifiying ground to walk on…
Remember that verse that talks about blaspheming the Holy Spirit and it being the one sin that won’t be forgiven? (Matthew 12:31) Well, there is grace to get it wrong when we are learning to prophesy but, it is definitely blaspheming the Holy Spirit to say He is saying something that is actually evil.
And, that is actually spiritual abuse.
There is a very real day coming when Jesus returns. Don’t live so spiritually asleep that you forget, it’s not just about this momentary, temporal life.
On that day of Judgment, we will have to answer directly to GOD for every careless, idle word we spoke. (Matthew 12:36) That is something to hold great fear of the Lord about.
So, TIP #1:
God’s spoken word to us will NEVER contradict what His written Word says.
If it ain’t in the Word of God- IT AIN’T GOD
And satan is the father of lies, so if it’s a lie- IT AIN’T GOD
This should stir you to read, study, meditate on the Word daily so that it is so IN you that you KNOW it.
Stay in the fear of the Lord ya’ll, it’s the beginning of wisdom.
