I feel as though a lot of you are in a season currently where you are crying out to God saying, "God, I need perseverance. I need endurance. Show me how to endure well." And as I was crying out to the Lord, the same thing, God, I need I need to endure. I need to persevere.

Will show me how. He gave me some key scriptures. And basically it's like a formula um from the Lord in the word which I love and I felt led to share it with you today. So Hebrews 11 where it's talking about Moses.

Obviously we know what Moses went through. So much injustice, so much suffering. He had to persevere and endure through much, right? Um, and so specifically verses 25- 27, it says, "He chose to suffer oppression with God's people rather than to experience the fleeting enjoyment of sin.

He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt. For he was looking ahead to his reward." By faith, Moses left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger. He persevered because he saw him who is invisible because he was seeing him who is unseen. Okay.

So Moses choosing to suffer and consider the reproach of Christ greater than earthly riches because he was looking ahead to his reward which his reward is obviously Christ and his eternal reward. Uh looking that word right there in the original language means to look away from everything else intently regard to have respect for to look with steadfast mental gaze to turn the eyes away from other things and fix them on one thing. And then it says um in the part where it says Moses choosing in faith to leave Egypt to not fear the king and to persevere because he was seeing him who is invisible which is obviously Christ. So seeing in the original language means to behold to perceive to know to see with your eyes to experience to care for and to pay heed.

And then uh the Lord led me to Hebrews 12 1-3. And it says, "Let us lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him who has endured such hostility by sinners against himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. So fixing our eyes on Jesus here in the original language means to consider attentively and again to turn your eyes from other things and fix them on one thing.

And then consider him here in the original language means to contemplate, to think over, to ponder, to consider by weighing and comparing. And um I feel like these are keys from the Lord, right, on how we endure and persevere well. So um it says in the word we endure and persevere well by intentionally choosing to constantly look away from everything else. Turn our eyes away from all the other things right and to fix them fixate them on the one man Jesus. um your time, your attention.

These are the most valuable assets that we have. And when we choose to give our time and attention to Jesus, we we are showing him, we are showing with our life that he is Lord. Whatever you give the most time and attention to is Lord in your life. Um, and then we also intently regard, we look on Jesus with a steadfast, unwavering mental gaze, which sounds like setting our face like flint and refusing to look to the right or to the left or to and fro and um just and having that unwavering determination towards him.

And we also choose to highly respect, to care for, and to pay heed, meaning to listen and obey Jesus. Uh we also choose to continually behold, to perceive, to consider attentively, and to see Jesus with our spiritual eyes and the eyes of our heart. Um, and we constantly choose to experience and know Jesus. Uh, some ways we can do this just practically are spending one on-one intimate time regularly with the Lord, spending time reading and studying deeply his word because his word is him.

He is a word that became flesh. Uh, we spend time in worship. we um spend that intimate time with him. Just like you know when you're married to a spouse, the more intimate one- on-one special alone time that you have, the more you know your spouse, right? The more that you experience them.

And um we also choose to regularly contemplate, think over, deeply ponder, and consider Jesus most worthy even by weighing and comparing. So if you want to endure and persevere well, fix your eyes, fix your gaze on that one man, Jesus, and do not look away.
