As the body of Christ, we are in a very critical time of transition right now. We are at a turning point and there is massive movement going on in the spirit right now. I believe we need divine wisdom from God more than ever in this time. And it is absolutely critical right now that we as believers are thinking and making decisions from a place of hearing his voice and using godly wisdom.
Most of us want wisdom. Most of us even cry out for wisdom from God. But most of us also have a completely wrong idea and definition of what wisdom even actually is. And most of us maintain a worldly view of wisdom.
The world usually cloaks fear or self-preservation um or selfishness or cynicism and the like as wisdom. But the Bible is incredibly clear on what wisdom actually is. It's literally spelled out for us in scripture. So, I'm going to share that.
And in James 3:13-15, it says, "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but it is earthly, sensual, and demonic.
So to understand what wisdom actually is here, it says meekness. It's meek. Um, but we really have to understand what scripture says it is not. So the phrase bitter envy here in the original language, bitter means harsh or severe or hostile and envy means contentious rivalry, jealousy and outburst and manifestations of the like.
So essentially scripture says if you are bitter, harsh, severe and hostile, if jealousy is hidden in your heart, if you have outbursts and manifestations of contentious rivalry or envy, you are not wise. Furthermore, the Bible actually says that if you are these things and behave this way, if these things are hidden in your heart also, then you are earthly, sensual, and demonic. The Bible also says that if you're hiding these things in your heart and acting out this way, that you should not boast and you should not lie against the truth. I'm going to share some more of what godly wisdom actually is in this series.
