Okay, this is going to be a challenging word, but stick with me. Recently, the Lord really convicted my heart on something that he told me to share with you. And it was at a time when I was going into a spiral with God. We've all been there.

I was starting to complain to the Lord. And just it was something that was extremely valid for my situation being as hard as it was. But in that place, the Lord told me to read Revelations 3. And one, there's strong warnings to wake up and not be lukewarm.

Two, it tells us to be vigilant. And three, it tells us to strengthen our faith in good works. So, if you're spiraling about your life, one, be vigilant. Be aware that we are in a war and this is an attack.

It's a spiritual attack. Um, two, press in, strengthen your faith, and keep working for the Lord. Uh, Revelations 2, God rebukes a church of Ephesus that they forgot their first love. And he doesn't say, "Stir yourself up to feel the feelings again," or anything like that.

What he says is, "Do the things that you did at first." It says, "Repent and do the things that you did when you first were in love with me." And so, um, in this place, instead of spiraling, we need to put our work boots on for the Lord and do the things that we did at first and not wait for a feeling to come up. Um, and number three, wake up. And here's what I mean by that. Uh, Revelations 4 that follows, he had me read, and it's all about the throne of heaven.

It's all about the throne of God and it goes into great detail about his glorious majesty and how powerful he is and the lightning and thunder coming from his throne and the elders who fall down before him and worship him and the living creatures that worship him day and night. And it hit me in that moment. Our life is but of vapor. It is so fleeting compared to the heavenly throne room of God, the eternal realm.

And any obsession or overfocus with our life or our situation, no matter how traumatic, no matter how valid, no matter how unjust or absolutely devastating, it's puffed up self-importance if we overly focus on that. There is only one found worthy. There is only one who sits on an eternal throne that far outweighs any temporal life on this earth. There is only one worthy of that constant attention.

All of our thoughts, of all of our rumination, right, that of all our meditation in our heart, whatever we dwell on most is an idol. So, if you find yourself dwelling on your life and your situation and the trauma that you're facing and spiraling over and over again, I invite you to one, wake up. Two, repent of self idolatry. Three, press in and strengthen your faith and do the things that you did at first.

Four, keep working for the one who is worthy. And five, worship him with your constant thoughts and the meditations of your heart.
